Sensational singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command after a 72-hour ultimatum to turn himself in for refusing to honor a police invitation over an alleged assault expired.
According to Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state police spokesperson, the singer is currently at the state police headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
Portable was given a three-day deadline to report himself to the police on Wednesday.
This came after the singer resisted police attempts to arrest him and referred to himself as a “federal government liability.”
Oyeyemi previously stated that if the controversial singer, born Habeeb Okikiola, does not surrender, police will “go after him.”
According to the PPRO, the arrest warrant became necessary after Portable repeatedly refused to honor the police invitation.
“Yes but his father has promised to produce him on or before Friday,” he said.
“So, we are expecting him to show up and if he doesn’t come, we are going after him.
“Only then will he know that we have the wherewithal to get him because he is not bigger than the law.”
