Veteran Nigerian Rapper Dies, As Dr. Fasasi Pleads With The Public For Privacy

Nigerians have come out to sympathies with the family of Popular veteran Nigerian Rapper, songwriter, singer, actor, comedian and Recording Artist, Olanrewaju Fasasi, popularly known and addressed by his fans as Sound Sultan, over his death. Sound Sultan is regarded as one of the pacesetters of modern hip hop music in Nigeria. The popular Nigerian rapper was born on the 27th of November 1976, in Jos Nigeria, and died on the 11th of July, 2021, at the age of 44.

According to report made by the Fasasi family today Sunday 11th of July, 2021, the Popular Nigerian Rapper died as a result of Throat Cancer, which came out as a big blow to lovers of good music in Nigeria, as some Nigerians took to their various Social Media platform to debate the report, because Sound Sultan is known to be a modest and upright figure, who did not involve himself in drug abuse and smoking.

The 44 year old Jagbajantis crooner lost his life to Angioimmunoblastic T-cell Lymphoma, which is a group of related malignancies (Cancer) that affects the Lymphatic system (Lymphomas). Olanrewaju Fasasi\’s death did not come as a surprise to some of his fans that have been following up on his health status, as Sound Sultan was reported to have moved to the United States of America two months ago, in other to undergo chemotherapy in a reputable hospital.

Meanwhile In a statement released this morning by Dr. Kayode Fasasi on behalf of the Fasasi family, pleaded with the public for privacy as they come to grips with the tragic loss. Fasasi who is survived by his wife Farida Fasasi, and three children, started a career in show business in the 1990s, when he hosted shows to raise money for studio sessions. He was later signed to Kennis Music from the year 1997 to the year 2008, when he latter partnered with Baba Dee to start Naija Nijas record label, which also stands as a production outfit and clothing line.
