The Transmission Company of Nigeria on Thursday announced that it had restored power supply to Maiduguri, Borno State, and its environs.
It said electricity was restored in the state on Wednesday around 3:51 pm despite the security challenges in the area.
It said bulk power supply was presently being transmitted through a diversion using 33 kilovolts high tension poles as a by-pass transmission line constructed by TCN to enable supply to Maiduguri.
The spokesperson of the company, Ndidi Mbah, said in a statement issued in Abuja that effort was ongoing to reconstruct three vandalised transmission towers along 330kV Damaturu-Maiduguri line.
