President Muhammad Buhari has told the new service chiefs that the country was in the state of emergency.
President Buhari also said it has not been easy to fulfill the promises he made to Nigerians in the year 201, which were to secure the country, revive the economy, and fight corruption.
Buhari also admonished the new service chiefs to be patriotic in discharging their duties and also told them to serve the country well.
The president made this known in a statement by his special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina.
The president also charged the service chiefs to be concerned about the morale of their officers and men, saying they should be made to feel physically and professionally secure. He pledged that government would do its best in terms of equipment and logistics.
After the meeting the chief of defense staff Major General Lucky Erabo acknowledged that they are not unmindful of the expectations.
