Wolves ageee deal for Sporting Lisbon’s Nunes

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reached an agreement for a club record fee of £42m plus add ons with Sporting Lisbon to sign midfielder Matheus Nunes.
The 23-year-old has been on the radar of many leading clubs in Europe.
Wolves are yet to agree on personal terms with the Portuguese midfielder but the Wolverhampton-based club is hopeful of concluding what would be a major coup for the club.
Nunes has eight caps for his country and is expected to be part of the squad for this year’s World Cup.
He has made 76 appearances in Portugal’s Primeira Liga, scoring seven goals, since signing for Sporting in January 2019.
If the deal pulls through, it will surpass the £35.6m paid to Porto for Fabio Silva in 2020.
Wolves Manager, Bruno Lage enjoyed huge success in the first half of his debut campaign before the club failed to win any of their last seven matches last season and eventually finished 10th.
