The Green Generation Initiative is a non-profit organization founded in 2018 with the vision of raising a new generation of leaders across Nigeria that will be self-aware and stay on the ideal of true societal values, and also seek to transform society through youth leadership and mentorship.
Since its establishment in 2018, the non-profit organization has implemented programs reaching various demography in the society. Its flagship summit, The GGI Summit, targets secondary school students across Lagos state, and has reached over 1, 000 students and 30 educational institutions across the state.
The GGI Summit has attracted notable individuals across the public and private sector such as the former first lady of Cross River state Onari Duke, the commissioner for education of Lagos state, and the manager of the Sahara Foundation, Mr Seyi Ojurongbe.
In a chat with yabatech radio, convener green generation initiative, Bola Orelaja spoke on this year’s theme, “leadership in nation building, youth taking the centre stage”
Orelaja said the conference is aimed at building the intellectual capacity of Nigerian youths to take up leadership positions and also proffer solutions to challenges bedeviling the nation.
\”you do not need to wait for sponsors to become a leader, start from somewhere, identify some problems and solve them. the moment you start something help will come\”
Speaking at the leadership summit which held at the MBA hall, Lagos state university, One of the guest speaker, Mr Oluseyi Ojurongbe called on Nigerian youths to inculcate ethical leadership values and skills
\”you develop yourself, equip yourself and implement the skill you want to impact and these makes leadership an act and not a position\”
Another speaker, Dr Deji West urged the younger generation to embrace opportunities made available as a result of technological advancement to think outside the box and come up with innovative ideas.

Seyifunmi Adesokan, a student of the department of Estate Management, Yaba College Of Technology commended the convener of the summit for birthing the vision of raising a new generation of leaders in every strata of the society.
