FG Meets Striking Judicial Workers Today

The Federal Government will meet the striking judicial workers over the lingering crisis in the sector; even as the leadership of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria has declared that the seven-day-old strike will continue until their demands are met.

However, the union also declared that the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Ibrahim Tanko Mohammad, who met with them earlier to call off the strike, Could not meet their demands.

The meeting today between the government and the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, is scheduled to commence by 2 pm.

Yabatech radio recalls that the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria commenced a nationwide strike on Tuesday, 6th of April when the union directed all its members across the federation to shut down all courts after the expiration of the 21-day ultimatum earlier given over the failure of the government to implement the financial autonomy of the judiciary.
