Leading Lagos-based entertainment and fashion company, Xquizit Cyn’jaaay Creations, is proud to organise the first-ever fashion reality show and talent hunt which will change the face of the fashion industry in Nigeria.
The show is tagged Sketch2Finish and will feature 30 designers competing for a prize pool of N8m (eight million naira) among other fantastic prizes for 14 days.
At a press conference to mark the launch of the show, CEO of Xquizit Cyn’jaaay Ejiofor explained that the show is a deviation from the norm of organising fashion shows.
“This is a reality show that is here to speak about fashion designers. We have been having a lot of fashion shows that are basically on the dresses that these designers make,” Ejiofor said.
“So, Sketch2Finish Fashion Reality Show has come to talk more about the fashion designers, their experiences as they go into the house, what they had to experience to bring out the dresses that you wear, so we need to understand the tears of a fashion designer as a human being and not just as a fashion designer.
“So we are talking about bringing real life events in a 14-day event. From the sufferings on the machines and dashboards to quarrels between the designers and the joy of making these dresses. And this allows us to understand the passion behind creation.”
She also broke down the prize pool for the three categories of winners after the sizzling and entertaining contest.
“We will have three categories of prizes. The first prize is N5m, the second-place prize is N3m and the third-place prize is N2m.”
The first season of the show is themed ‘Craftsmanship at its peak’ – a collection of ideas that have been in the process since 2023.
“We started organising the show in 2023 to make sure that we bring in something unique and we are trying to make sure that we have the right people involved and the message we are trying to deliver to the world is in our tag; ‘Craftsmanship at its peak’.”
Aside from the money and other prizes, the winners of the show will also have the opportunity to acquire more training as well as grants.
“For every winner, we are also going to get them into a series of training for one year. At the end, they will also be able to get grants from the banks we will involve to start off. So, it’s not just about the show, it’s also about how they can develop and build their businesses.”
