NSCDC Deploys 2,500 Officers To Tackle Insecurity during Eidul-Fitri Celebration

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Lagos State Command, led by Commandant of Corps Usman Ishaq Alfadarai, has deployed over 2,500 officers and men to ensure the security and protection of critical national assets and infrastructure in the state.
Public Relations Officer of the command, Abolurin Oluwaseun issued this in a statement made available to journalists.
UI Alfadarai, the Lagos State Commandant, stated that it was critical to ensure rapid deployment of personnel during the celebration and at all times. He also stated that the re-energized strategies put in place will aid in the arrest of criminals and the eradication of the nefarious activities of vandals and other criminal elements that could be detrimental to the state’s economic growth and development.
“We will not allow any form of economic sabotage, before, during and after this year’s EidulĀ  – fitri celebration,” Alfadarai said, while addressing the top management of the command.
“It is important to state clearly that the command has mapped out its operational strategies and procedures, identified volatile spots and points and also factored in responseĀ  mechanisms during eventualities, in a bid to ensure peaceful celebrations and adequate protection of critical national assets and infrastructure, before, during and after the Holidays, amongst other things, in the State.
He then explained the significance of the operational guidelines to the Command’s Heads of Departments, Heads of Units, six(6) Area Commanders, twenty(20) Divisional Officers, thirty-seven(37) officers-in-charge (OCs) of sub-divisions and outposts, Unit and Tactical Commanders, and charged the Department of Operations with taking responsibility for the deployment of adequate personnel across the state.
He also charged the officers and men of the Corps with bringing the proper impetus on board and focusing on protecting all strategic locations, points, facilities, right of ways, oil pipeline installations, religious and worship centers, parks and gardens, disaster and traffic control and management, and all assets belonging to the Local, State, and Federal Governments of Nigeria in the state.
He advised personnel to make good use of the following mechanisms: robust intelligence gathering and processing, intensive patrol and monitoring of identified spots and assets, physical and psychological crime prevention mechanisms, emergency response and disaster management skills, among many others, while members of the public are also advised to contact the following phone lines in case of emergencies; 08187186124, 08163597310
The Commandant, on the other hand, congratulated Muslim faithfuls in the state on a successful completion of Ramadan and wished them the best rewards from God Almighty.
Nonetheless, the Commandant warned the officers and men deployed to be on high alert as they carried out their duties without fear or favor. He also charged them with remaining professional, competent, and respecting the civil populace’s rights and privileges in the course of their duties before, during, and after the celebrations, as anyone found wanting of any infraction against the people will not be spared.
