Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC, a member of Standard Bank Group, held its annual Youth Leadership Series (YLS) recently, at the Yaba College of Technology, Lagos.
The theme for this year’s edition is “Winning in Career and Business.
The Youth Leadership Series is a flagship initiative of Stanbic IBTC designed to foster leadership skills and inspire young people to impact their communities positively. The programme empowers youths to learn, network, and develop the skills necessary to thrive in today’s fast-paced and ever-changing landscape.
Delivering his opening remarks, Dr Demola Sogunle, CE, Stanbic IBTC Holdings disclosed that Stanbic IBTC is committed to empowering the next generation of changemakers and market movers.
“We believe that young people have the potential to be great leaders and agents of change in their communities. Our goal with the YLS is to help them unlock that potential and provide the tools and resources they need to succeed.”
Keynote Speaker, Sunday Dare, Minister of Youth and Sports Development revealed commended Stanbic IBTC for investing in young people through the Youth Leadership Series.
Dare opined that one of the primary ways to solve youth employment is to preach the message of entrepreneurship.
“There are not enough jobs, I want to appeal to the young generation to make use of digital skills, tools and resources available globally to their advantage”
Dare tasked the youth to harness their potentials and seek opportunities to succeed with all diligence
The event featured various activities, including interactive sessions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities with seasoned professionals from multiple industries.
