Speaking on the occasion of the Premier League\’s 30th anniversary, Big Sam revealed that the Nigerian midfielder was the player with the most impact in the club under his leadership as the Manager.
Okocha, who previously played for Eintracht Frankfurt, Fernabahce and Paris Saint-Germain signed for Bolton Wanderers in the Premier League on a free transfer in 2002 where he instantly became fans favorite with dazzling mesmerizing skills and top-notch playmaking which appealed to the crowd.
He also played an important role in the dressing room as captain and is widely recognised as one of the greatest African players to ever grace English football where he scored 18 goals in 144 appearances during a memorable four-year spell at Bolton Wanderers.
The two-time BBC African Player of the Year helped reach their first Cup final in nine years, losing to Middlesbrough 2-1 in the 2004 League Cup final in Cardiff.
