THE DEPUTY EXECUTIVE SECRETARY OF THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITIES COMMISSION, NUC, DR. SULAIMAN RAMON-YUSUF STATED THIS IN ABUJA AT THE LAUNCH OF A COMPENDIUM ON THE CONTRIBUTIONS MADE BY SOME NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES TO MITIGATE THE EFFECTS OF COVID-19 IN THE COUNTRY.

RAMON-YUSUF SAID JUST AS THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WAS IN DIRE NEED FOR COVID-19 SOLUTION, RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS UNDER THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION WERE ON THEIR TOES TO ALSO COME-UP WITH A POSSIBLE CURE FOR THE CORONAVIRUS. DR SULAIMAN WHO NOTED THAT THE COMPENDIUM WAS A LIST OF SOME OF THE INTERVENTIONS BY THE NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES, HIGHLIGHTED SOME OF THEM TO INCLUDE FABRICATION OF VENTILATORS AND THE INSTITUTION OF RESEARCH ON SARS COV-2. HE STRESSED THAT THE CRITERIA USED TO COMPILE THE LIST OF THE UNIVERSITIES IN THE COMPENDIUM WAS A VERIFIABLE ONE DEVOID OF BIAS OR SENTIMENTS
