Serena Williams will partner with her sister Venus at the US Open for a final dance after the pair were awarded a wild card.
The Williams sisters now look to reignite the fine form that has seen them achieve a remarkable record of winning all 14 of the grand slam doubles finals they have contested.
Their last grand slam triumph in the doubles was at Wimbledon 2016 while the French Open, four years ago was the last time they paired.
The 23 times grand slam champion\’s farewell is expected to dominate the tournament for as long as she is in it, but it looks set to be another wide-open women’s singles event as she aims to equal Margaret Court\’s all-time record of 24 singles grand slam titles
They will battle against the Czech Republic duo of Linda Noskova & Lucie Hradecka on Wednesday, August 31st. The US Open is the final grand slam of the year which starts today.
